MONEL404 (UNS N04404) mechanical properties

The permeability of alloy 404 (measured at 27°F and a field strength of 0.5 Oersted) will not exceed 1.1. Since its low magnetic permeability is not significantly affected by machining and fabrication, this alloy is particularly suitable for electronic parts.In addition, most of the strength of the 404 alloy remains unchanged at the degassing temperature. Its thermal expansion characteristics are very close to those of many other alloys, allowing negligible deformation when firing clad metal tubes.

MONEL Nickel Copper Alloy MONEL404 (UNS N04404) is primarily used in professional electrical and electronic applications. The composition of MONEL 404 alloy has been carefully tuned to provide a very low Curie temperature, low permeability and good brazing properties.

1. Power station water supply and steam generator piping system;
