C71500 Material Properties

C71500 (BFe30-1-1) has added iron and manganese for excellent corrosion and biofouling resistance in fresh and sea water. Alloys with nickel content higher than 90/10 copper-nickel have enhanced mechanical properties while still maintaining excellent corrosion resistance. In clean seawater, the alloy accepts water flow rates as high as 2.2-2.5%/s. The maximum acceptable speed in brackish solutions is up to 4m/s. The alloy avoids stress corrosion cracking and denickeling at high temperatures. Therefore, the alloy has good corrosion resistance to clean or polluted seawater and Jiangwan water, and is widely used in heat exchangers using seawater such as power stations, seawater desalination, and petrochemical plants.

Application areas of C71500 material

C71500 (BFe30-1-1) cupronickel is widely used in shipbuilding, petrochemical, electrical appliances, instrumentation, medical equipment, daily necessities, handicrafts and other fields due to its excellent corrosion resistance and easy molding, processing and welding in copper alloys. As a corrosion-resistant structural member, it is also an important resistance and thermocouple alloy. On heat exchangers using seawater such as power stations, seawater desalination, petrochemical plants, etc.
